2018, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology revised the “Electric Bicycle Safety Technical Code” national standard draft 16 for public display, and on May 16, 2018, the State Administration of Market Supervision, the National Standardization Administration approved the release of the new revised “Electric Bicycle Safety Technical Code”. August 25, electric bicycle industrial product production license management to the implementation of mandatory product certification transition period from August 1, 2018 to April 14, 2019.
From May 1, 2019, “non-standard” electric bicycles without temporary identification are not allowed to drive on the road, and from November 1, 2021, only the number plate can be suspended compliance with the electric bicycle on the road.
