Vacuum rolls are the ideal solution when the web is not suitable for double-sided contact and a pinch roll design is not possible. They can be installed in front of an air-float oven (a device suitable for double-sided coating of webs) and are excellent tension isolation and control points. The vacuum rolls hold the web by vacuum and keep it close to the barrel, increasing friction and preventing web slippage. In addition, the outer surface of the vacuum roll is a smooth, ultra-fine, seamless nickel metal screen. The vacuum roll always holds the entire web firmly without damaging it, even with the most delicate coating materials.
