Steam Engine SolidWorks
A steam engine is a heat engine capable of converting the kinetic energy in water vapor into work, and because the combustion process in it takes place outside the heat engine, it is an external combustion engine among heat engines. Pumps, locomotives and ships used to be driven by steam engines. The steam engine played a fundamental role in the industrial revolution. Today’s nuclear power generation and thermal power generation still use steam turbine engines to convert heat energy into electricity. A steam engine requires a boiler that boils water to produce high-pressure steam, and this boiler can use wood, coal, oil or natural gas or even garbage as the heat source. The expansion of the steam pushes the piston to do work.
