Rodney Brooks, known as the “Bad Boy,” is an Australian-born, 40-something, tousled-haired, professor at MIT’s Artificial Intelligence Laboratory. He likes to go off the beaten track and never believes in traditional rules. Since the 1980s, he has opposed the credo that “robots must think before they can do anything”. To prove his point, he developed a series of alien robots. These robots could not think, but could do anything, such as steal soda cans from tables and traverse hot floors all around them. His success has made him one of the most controversial figures in the field of robotics.
The Robot Rodney design model (Robot) is a machine device that performs work automatically. It can either accept human command, run pre-programmed programs, or act according to a platform of principles developed with artificial intelligence technology. Its task is to assist or replace human work in jobs such as production, construction, or hazardous work. Robots generally consist of actuators, drives, detection devices and control systems and complex machinery. The overall structure is very well designed and can be downloaded to learn the use of design ideas, a very good model.
