Prusa I3 MK3 3d Printer SolidWorks, 3D Exported
The MK3 has a new controller called RAMBo Einsy, which has the largest update to the machine and supports a new stepper driver: the Trinamic TMC2130. With these new drivers, the MK3 is able to detect when a motor is stalled or missing steps. This eliminates the need for termination; the MK3 simply moves each axis to its end and detects a change in the EMF in the motor coil as the carriage makes contact with the part at the end. This is also used to detect problems in the printing process. If your part starts to lift and the extruder touches it, the
MK3 will pause and alert you instead of continuing to print the bad part. the Trinamic driver is also configured to make sure the machine runs quietly. the
MK3 will not stop sensing due to a collision and will also monitor your extruder. Extrusion problems are some of the most common problems that plague 3D printing. MK3 will monitor your extruder, try to detect a jam or missing filament, and pause the print, possibly saving you a print if it thinks things are not right.
